Our fee structure is formulated in line with specific guiding principles as required by the Law Society. In determining fees for our professional services, we will take into account the following factors:
• The amount and importance of the work done; • The complexity of the matter or the difficulty or novelty of the work or questions raised in executing the client’s instructions; • The skill, labour, specialised knowledge and responsibility involved on the part of the practitioner; • The number and importance of the documents prepared or perused, without necessarily having regard to their length; • the time expended by the practitioner in executing the client’s instructions; • The place where and the circumstances in which the services (or any part thereof) were rendered; • The amount of value where money or property is involved; • The importance of the matter to the client; • The quality of work done; • The urgency of the matter; • The experience or seniority of the practitioner.
In addition to the above factors, it must be noted that fees for our professional services are charged at an hourly rate (or part thereof). Examples of professional services would be consultations, drawing up of documents, travelling for purposes of executing a client’s mandate, time spent at court, on the telephone, perusing documents, conducting research and so on.
